Spaceport Kochi is an ambitious organization planning a new rocket launch site in Kochi Prefecture — an ideal location in Japan where a long southern coastline and major transportation routes meet.
YMA+D contributed to the masterplan design, coastal resiliency research, modeling/rendering and visualization for the project. The proposal panels we designed were presented to the Mayor of Kochi in October 2025, marking a major step forward for the spaceport initiative.
We continue collaborating with the Spaceport Kochi initiative with bold visions to tackle challenges like shrinking population in rural areas and disaster resilience in Japan.
